Tyrece Roane

Got reports last night that Tyrece is wondering around asking for money for gas. Holiday Inn and Sheetz both said he had been in there. Nickey from Sheetz said he was in there the other night.

Magnum Auto Sales

Magnum Auto had several vehicles with chips in windshields that appeared to have been from BB's. One vehicle needs to have the windshield replaced.

I told Ed I would alert you to this for increased awareness during patrol and he plans on increasing the lighting in the area. Let me know if you have had any encounters with someone who had a BB gun in their possession.

James Byrd aka "Skooter"

James Byrd was arrested on 09/21/11 on an outstanding warrant for Trespass on Fox Chase Apartments on 09/12/11. As a condition of Byrd's unsecured $2,500.00 Bond he is not to return to Fox Chase Property. He is not scheduled to be arraigned on the charge until October 06, 2011. Between now and then as well as his Hearing date I feel confident that he will return to Fox Chase. If he is found on the property he now will be in violation of his bond as well as the original Trespass Notice.

Monday, September 19, 2011

I went into the Snapshot today and looked around. It reminded me of a genuine head shop from the 70's when I was working drugs in the Fan around VCU in Richmond. They have every kind of smoking device known. They had glass bongs, glass pipes, customized roach clips, black lite posters, all of it. The business is owned by a John Rhoades out of Topping, VA. Not much on him in Linx, no drug charges. It will bear watching.

The Weekend

Quiet weekend for the most part. A loud music complaint, a few alarm calls, and an elderly lady at 1054 Townhouse Drive that was a little confused. Nothing major to report however everyone might want to ride by and take a look at the new store over by the movie theater. It's called Slipknots and it appears to have everything a doper would want or need.

Mr. Oliver Washington passed away this morning at 4:37 am.

Wednesday, August 3, 2011

Yesterday Timmy interviewed a lady who told him that "Scooter" Byrd was dealing out of his vehicle in Fox Chase. later around 3:00 PM we rode through Fox Chase and observed Byrd backed up in a parking spot with all his windows down, just sitting in his vehicle. It was about 97 degrees at the time. As soon as we came in he left. Byrd drives a bright blue Cadillac and lives with his mom down at Settlers Landing. Gray got him several weeks ago with Pot in his car.

Markham Ter

I took a report Saturday night about somebody throwing things at vehicles on Marsh Street. The complainant said they heard a thud but there was no damage to the vehicle. I checked the area but was unable to locate anything that night. I went back Sunday morning and the curbing gutter (on Marsh St.) across from the two story brick apartment was full of cherries from the front of the building. The were also pieces of potatoes and eggs. If anybody sees any kids hanging out there you may want to stop and talk to them. I checked periodically last not but no one was out side. It's been happening after 11:00 pm.

Buoy 17

Just heard that Friday, Robbie Grimstead and Chad Rock will be at Buoy 17. Last year they were at Ferebee's when we had the big street fight. Hopefully it will be quiet this year but just in case I'll keep my phone close. Be safe this weekend.

Foot & Vehicular Traffic at Rappahannock Apts

Recently there has been a lot of traffic at Rappahannock Apartments. Last night Drake, Monte Veney, Bostow, and others were consistently in and out of the complex most of the night. Timmy advised that the girl in the back was soon to be evicted; however, they are also hanging out at the apartments on the left as you come in. Rob saw Veney with the back pack and when I pulled in he left and went towards Townhouse. We weren't sure it was him until he returned without the backpack.

Also, Rob was flagged down in the Wakefield area due to citizens concerned about speeders in the area. Rob checked the area and noticed that the only speed limit sign was on Lewis Street. Someone may want to check about having more signs installed in the area.

Thursday Night

On Thursday night around 11:30 I ran across a vehicle sitting on Janette Drive across from Magnum Auto sale. When I went by I saw a female outside the passenger side of the vehicle. When I turned around and went back I did not see her. As I was running the vehicle information the female subject came walking up from the car lot. I asked her what she was doing over there and she stated that she was making sure they had not left her tag on a motor home they had just turned back in because she wanted to cancel the auto insurance. Her name was Denise Elizabeth Wells and the driver was Donald William Coates. He stated that he had just met her the night before and was giving her a ride to Urbana. I don't believe they had time to do anything; however, day shift may want to check with Magnum Auto Sales to see if they know this lady and why she may be there.

River Users at the end of Duke Street

We are starting to get a lot of complaints from the condos at the end of Duke Street concerning teenagers parking at the end of the street playing loud music, urinating on the beach, dumping trash, etc. I recognize the right of anyone using the beach at this location, however the decorum has to be within the limits. I know we do not have a noise ordnance at this time, however you may want to consider 18.2-419 which, in part, prohibits persons from assembling in a manner which disrupts to threatens to disrupt any individual's right to tranquility in the home. This may require someone from the condo coming to court. I am also looking at the re-posting of signs at the end of the street that were removed by the hurricane.

Please patrol this area.

The Weekend

Plenty of calls for service this weekend but nothing major. Mostly just minor stuff. Rob had an arrest for assault out at Foxchase and another one that occurred in Walmart parking lot. Other than that it was pretty mellow. Have a good Memorial Day.

Thursday

Last night I was dispatched to Rappahannock Apartments for an unauthorized use of a vehicle. When we arrived on scene we spoke with Nate Bastow. He said a friend of his had taken the car and was running it up and down Winston Road however the car was there when we arrived. Mr. Bastow had a cut on his forehead and he stated that he had been in a fight with the subject that took his car. He stated that it was a friend but he only knew him by "LK". He also stated that he did not want to press charges. Later in the night around 3:00 am Rob saw Mr. Bastow and another guy that was with him at the apartments coming out of Sheetz. Rob said the other guy had a cast on his arm. We did not have much contact with this guy because he stated that he had just come over to help his friend, Nate. We're not real sure what was up with this whole situation but Mr. Bastow was uncooperative and evasive. Just be aware in case you see him hanging around. He's the young guy that used to work at Walmart and drove the blue ford mustang. He was driving a red Oldsmobile last night.

A Squad Weekend

Weekend was pretty good. Heavy traffic in trailer park Saturday night but everyone behaved themselves. Sunday night someone tried to set Ann Glass' trailer on fire by setting a Molotov cocktail next to the skirting. They claim it was the neighbor due to a dispute between a female at the residence and Megan Glass.

Wednesday, May 18, 2011

Tuesday PM/Wednesday AM

We received a call at Raceway for a stolen purse that turned out to be a robbery committed by several suspects. Long story short, victims owed Oliver Harvey money for a drug purchase and he and others came to collect. As of right now we have Harvey, Kyle Cobb, and Terrell Fauntleroy charged with Robbery and Abduction. Gray will be obtaining warrants on others as well. According to the victims, at least 5 males surrounded their car and demanded payment. Some of the suspects are believed to have brandished weapons but none were found. Item stolen was a purse belonging to a female who was in the vehicle. We were able to recover some of the items from the purse in the dumpster area in Townhouse.

Thursday - Sunday

Thursday night we got out in the trailer park, Foxchase, Rappahannock apartments, and Townhouse apartments. All was fairly quiet. Friday night Rob rolled in on a few guys at Townhouse and got one with dope on him. Saturday night channel 6 news was all over town. And Sunday was just rainy and quiet. All in all a pretty quiet weekend. Have a great week guys and stay safe out there.

Monday, May 9, 2011

"A" Squad Weekend

Saturday night was the most active during the past weekend. Two males from the City of Richmond were arrested for CCW and Poss. of Marijuana. The two were returning from a tattoo party in Westmoreland. The driver of the vehicle was the tattoo artist but it would appear he supplements his income by selling marijuana.

Marquese Gray was arrested again for Domestic Assault against Brittany Braxton and Gray arrested a DUI. Beyond that we had a few general calls for service.

Wednesday, May 4, 2011

Monday & Tuesday Evening Shift

Nothing major to report. Tuesday - 655 Foxchase Apt. 7, juvenile issue, Keith Dorsey, Jr.; juvenile being disrespectful to dad.

King William Arrest

King William Co. arrested the man that Mike encountered at Lowe's the other morning and charged him with stealing something from a nursery. I think he was also charged with stealing fertilizer from Southern States.

Unified Effort

While on Patrol I came across Robert Courtney urinating outside of his brothers trailer @ B-22 King St. While issuing him a summons he informed me that there is not a working bathroom in the trailer. He went on to say that the water can be turned on but there are problems with the pipes under the trailer that cause's everything to run out, so the water is kept off.
As discussed in our meeting last week, this is a great example of "More than one way to skin a cat"
Day shift may want to make contact with the Town's housing and compliance officer and take a closer look.

Wednesday, April 20, 2011

John Richards (again)

Chris charged John Richards with another felony domestic assault against his son Brian and simple assault against James Campbell. He had the potential to be combative but thought otherwise in the face of superior numbers.

Stolen Fertilizer from King William

Chuck Hall called to inform us that several 50lbs bags of 10-10-10 fertilizer had been stolen from the Southern States in Central Garage. The information was posted through the Virginia Fusion Center but I have been unable to find the bulletin. I told Chuck that we sent a statewide broadcast with containing the information of the individual that Mike encountered Friday morning. BOL around Lowe's and Southern States.

O'Gara Group

Today I met with Vince May, Director of Training for the O'Hara Group.

He said that Ferebee's is now off limits to any of the trainee's. We, as a rule, should not have any problems with any of the students. They have to be vetted through the State Department as well as under go additional scrutiny before being hired. They are not trained killers, they are being trained to protect diplomat's, etc.

They are currently being housed in Holiday Inn Express and Day's Inn. They are bring a lot of revenue to the town and the area.

Part of their training consists of visiting local venue's (e.g., Shoney's) and do an assessment of the facilities to see if it is safe to bring a diplomat. You will probably see them around town. If you encounter any problems let me know and I will contact Vince.

He said that they pay $125 per day for role players if you are interested.

Town Decals

Town decals expire at mid-night April 15. We will begin enforcing this on Thursday, the 21st.

The applicable town code is 38-96.

Thursday Night

Fairly quiet night. We had a male subject from Richmond on the side of Lowe's driving a ford truck with a trailer attached. He claimed he was going to use the bathroom but all indications pointed towards him stealing mulch. We sent out a message to surrounding jurisdictions to see if they have had any thefts of outside materials recently. A field contact sheet is on file and I also have pictures of the vehicle and trailer if needed. Have a good day and stay safe!

Donovan Rich

Donovan Rich is supposedly moving back to town from Newport News. According to his aunt, Donovan was not compliant with his probation and has started carrying a gun. Will post more as soon as I get it.

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

Monday Night

Tonight we had an assault on Tiffany Prescott out at the trailer park. There are warrants on file for Sharmeka Bundy and Keosha Reynolds. Tiffany is no longer living at Lot 7 King Street with Gavin Hill. Ms. Bundy has an address of 36 Davis Street and Ms. Reynolds has a Fredericksburg address.
Everette arrested Cassandra Berry for DUI. We were there earlier for loud music and loud people complaint and apparently she didn't get the message when we told them to go inside. Shakira Stewart was hanging around Foxchase. Seems like every time we get a disturbance call shes there. Someone on day shift may want to speak with management about having her barred from the property. That's it for now. Have a good day and stay safe!

DURRELL BUNDY

Durrell Anthony Bundy, B/M, DOB: 11-22-1989, SSN: 223-55-9401, VA DL #: T67-03-2641, plead no contest today to 46.2-302 after being charged with 46.2-301. Another great plea agreement by our CA. Also, he is required to keep the peace and be of good behavior for three years, 60 days in jail suspended, 15 hours of community service w-CJS, and a $100.00 fine.

Please, let me know if anyone has any negative interaction so that it can be reported to revoke the suspended sentence. Also, if this conviction will help anyone get a show cause let me know.

Monday, April 4, 2011

The Weekend

Quiet weekend. Everette had a DUI arrest and we had some traffic stops. That was about the extent of the weekend. Hope everyone has a good couple of days.

Fed Inmates back in custody

Federal inmates Dejon Washington and Greg Fauntleroy have returned to the facility in Petersburg. Apparently life outside was too much and they went back on their own.

Monday & Tuesday

Monday night Rob served a warrant on a female from Northumberland for violation of a protective order. The male subject that Dave had an encounter with at Walmart was at the Holiday Inn most of the night hanging out in the parking lot. Michael Relapse pulled the fire alarm at Holiday Inn after coming back from Applebee's.
Tuesday Rob arrested Meagan Glass and Tiffany Prescott for shoplifting at Sheetz. Also, their are warrants on file for Crystal Jackson for the same incident. The Marshall Service was in town last night looking for Dajon Washington and Gregory Fauntleroy. Apparently these two walked away from a non-secure facility in Petersburg. Everette, Rob, and the Marshalls searched Eula Myers and Kenya Richards trailer but they were not located at this time. May possibly either be in the area or headed here.

Strategic Plan Initative

Over the past few months the amount of alarm calls at the Essex County Library has increased to nearly one or two calls per night. With each call no key holder will respond. I have obtained contact information for the day shift to make contact with and to work with the staff of the library to resolve the problem. Also, we have noticed citizens utilizing the parking lot all hours of the night using the broad band service that is enabled at the library. This in itself could attract criminals either to make entry into the library, witch we found to be very easy even when locked and or to prey on unsuspecting and inattentive victims utilizing the internet access in the parking lot.

During the outlining of the departments new strategic plan, it was discussed that day shift personnel would meet with business owners and citizens to address and help facilitate the corrective measures needed to overcome problems identified by the night shift.

The contact information is a Bess Haile @ (804)443-4813.

Once this has been accomplished it would be helpful for those of us on night shift to know what steps have been taken and what efforts we can now employ to maintain a co-operative effort between the library and the department.

Requested extra patrol on Queen St

I spoke with Charlene Jackson who owns two properties on Queen St near Sunoco. She asked if we could conduct extra patrols in the area. Last Saturday she complained that several males were blocking the road on Queen St and were hanging out in front of the apartments next to the barber shop.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON (MENTAL SUBJECT)

Unit 408 Gray & Unit 410 Middleton were called to Wal-Mart to deal with a suspicious person at 02:02 AM today. The subject had been scaring staff and patrons alike over the past several nights. He had wondered through the store without conducting business for hours. Sometimes, this subject was wearing a respirator style mask. He had also acted adversarial in conversations with staff and management. Wal-Mart Manager(s) on duty ----- Richard Lewis and James Withers ----- asked for police assistance to have the subject leave the store.

The suspicious person was identified as ----- WILBUR JAMES HALL, JR. a white male, DOB: 12-31-1951, HGT: 6' 2", WGT: 269, HAIR: Gray and Brown, EYES: Brown, VA DL #: T61-40-6464, SSN: 228-72-4547.

HALL drives a ----- White, 2002, GMC, YUKON SUV (SUBURBAN STYLE), VA License Plate JSH-1518.

HALL stated that he is assisting his mother who is ill. She lives in Warsaw, Virginia. HALL is from Annandale, Virginia. Hall did not seem mentally stable and had to be ordered off the property. He stated that police were making a mistake by asking him to leave. HALL took photos with a digital camera. He seemed to be trying to escalate the situation by driving around the edges of the Wal-Mart lot taking photos.

HALL has been verbally barred from Wal-Mart by Unit 408 Gray. LINX had no records on Hall.

Evening Shift 3/16/11

Loud music complaint at 46 Davis Street; Paul Blue Jr. came in and wanted to get his baby from Mary Greene at 504 Va Street, I was unable to make contact with her.

Sunoco Update

Today I got additional warrants on everyone in this case:

Anthony M Green
Attempt to commit murder on C. Miller
2 counts of shooting into vehicle on behalf of each child

Sidney Green

Attempt to commit murder on C. Miller
2 counts of shooting into vehicle on behalf of each child

Clarence Miller

2 counts of attempt to commit murder on the Greens.

Whitney Greene

2 counts of accessory after the fact.

Westmoreland Co. is going to get felony obstruction and 2 counts of accessory after the fact on Whitney.

They arrested the females at the house in Westmoreland where the Greens were apprehended and they are talking, filling in all the blanks. They confirmed the Greens were the ones that shot up Miller's trailer.

Amanda has created a large binder for this case file with everything separated by tabs. When we go to court everything will be easy to locate.

Everyone who contributed to this case be it surveillance, interviews, submitting PD100's, did an excellent job and the file is reflective of your professionalism.

Sunoco Shooting

While discussing this case with LT. Johnson and then later with Sergeant Woolums it dawned on me that The Bank of Essex, located on the corner of RT 17 and Prince Street may have video coverage of the incident from the drive through window camera's. This may be helpful during the prosecution since some of the witnesses are sure to have a memory laps once they get to court. Maybe one of the day shift units could make contact with the bank and take a look.

Monday, March 14, 2011

Anthony and Sidney were both arrested in Westmoreland Co. today. We checked Sidney's cell phone this am and it indicated he was in Westmoreland. We (412, 409, 491) teamed up with Westmoreland and VSP and set on the house where we thought he was. Whitney showed up with half her family and Anthony. Later we stopped Whitney but she swore she didn't kwow where he was. Jacob and Jay Mitchell were behind the house. Woolums was in front. Just prior to the VSP tact team arriving Sydney and Anthony left the house in the rear and walked through the woods. They were arrested and both had backpacks with weapons inside. Westmoreland charged them with poss. firearm by convicted felon.

Modification of warrants

When a magistrate issues a warrant the information is automatically sent to the dispatcher. They have to modify the warrants in their system.

I have been admonished by Investigator Beamer for not putting cautionary information on the warrants for the Greens et al such as "Armed & considered dangerous". Quite candidly I wasn't aware that could be done. When we got the warrants I just wanted something in the system.

In the future if you want any kind of particular information along with the information of the warrant in the system let the dispatcher know at the time they are modifying the warrants.

Queen St

Late information that Anthony Green may be in Caroline or King George. I have sent pictures for them to BOL. Also sent a pic of Sidney Green to Norfolk PD.

Queen Street Shooting

As of this AM Sydney is in Norfolk, according to his cell phone. Anthony is still in the area. We just searched Katy's house again at 2:00 PM, not there. Also searched Grandmother's house in Woodstown, not there. 403 & 412 arrested Miller last night. He's locked up, no bond.

Thursday, March 10, 2011

Queen Street Shooting

At about 1:45 PM yesterday Paula Harris and Clarence Miller were at Queen Street Sunoco as was Anthony Green and Sydney Green. After some brief conversation the two Greens began shooting up Paula's car. 10 .380 casings were found in the area where they were standing. As Miller was leaving he fired at least 8 9mm rounds back towards the station striking two other vehicles plus the gas pump. Greens left the scene with Whitney Green driving and, according to her, she dropped them off at Parker Place and Rt. 17.

We have several felony warrants on the Greens and Miller. More charges to follow.

Wednesday

Couple of alarm calls last night and a threatening phone call complaint. We also looked for the Green subject's that we have warrants on. No luck so far. If someone could add some info to the blog about the shooting it would be appreciated. That's about it. Have a good day and stay safe!

Wednesday, March 9, 2011

March 7-8

Fairly quiet the past 2 nights. Some local traffic starting to frequent Holiday Inn, but nothing serious at this point.

Monday, March 7, 2011

Thursday - Sunday

Quiet few days for calls for service. Everette got a DUI and picked up John Richards for Dip. Richards is starting to get more aggressive lately when he's arrested. Be careful if you have any run ins with him in the future. Rob had to kick a door in at Rappahannock Apartments for the rescue squad. Someone on day shift may want to speak with management and see if a key holder could be available so that we can avoid this in the future. Kevin Carter at lot B6 on king Street decided that he did not want Metrocast going up the pole to fix the service. We stood by to make sure their were no problems while they went up the pole. Some traffic stops and that was about the majority of the weekend. Rob spoke with Jolene the new manager at Days Inn. He said we might want to stop by and introduce ourselves. She seems to be very receptive to our efforts there. Also there is information that a lady from Townhouse is renting a room there and entertaining guest. Not sure if anyone has info as to who this might be. Well that's about it, have a good couple of days and stay safe!

Courtney Mann

377 Jeanette Drive:

The past two days I have been working with Bill Lewis on the Courtney Mann issue. Bill now has a lady coming in to clean and take some care of her. Yesterday we had some issues that required Bill and me to visit Courtney and lay down the ground rules. C0urtney now is being taken at least three days a week to a senior's group for part of the day. She has to get rid of the cats which we did this morning with John Lee's help. The house is being cleaned. Dr. Briggs is changing her medicine so hopefully we won't have to continue going around there and dealing with her.

John Rouse

That's definitely Rouse driving the gray truck. I seen him leaving Minter's on 02/28/11, Its beat up gray 80's style Ford pickup truck. Had no reason for a stop on him, maybe the day shift can sit up on him and get something.

Ooops

The link didn't post, but it's www.tapp-pd.org

Weekend

Responded to Courtney Mann's on Saturday after she made a suicidal threat to the dispatcher. After determining she was not in immediate danger and just wanted relief from a headache, she was treated and released from RTH. The living conditions inside her home are becoming deplorable and I have started to inquire about the safety of her living there and the safety of others.

Arsane located the stolen Jeep early Monday morning from Chuck's case at Watts and it has been stored at Parkers.

Also, the website is progressing and David Broad has uploaded the "first draft" on the web. It has a long way to go but so far it looks good. It is linked at the top.

3rd Shift 2/22/11

Nothing to pass down.

Feb. 22 Evening Shift (2nd)

Disorderly at Wal-Mart, Forrest Fauntleroy from Hague not taking his meds., he was escorted by his family and myself to their vehicle w/o incident.; Domestic issue between Doris Martin and Reginald Roane, 501 Ware Ave, verbal issue over a fan, advice to both subjects.

Feb. 22 Evening Shift (so far)

Sandra Brooks (296-1272) of 951A Winston Road (Rapp. Apts.) called and is having problems with Kyle Cobb (7-16-93) at the apartment complex. He's hanging around 953 (next door to her) and she advised there's alot of activity at that apartment starting at 6pm until the late hours of night. Drug activity maybe? Requested extra patrol if possible.

Monday, February 21, 2011

Saturday & Sunday (feb 19-20)

Saturday night was actually a pretty quiet night in town. Rob obtained warrants on a larceny suspect from Walmart and served those on her. We had a accident at the movie theater. An alarm call at Mcdonalds and another loud music complaint from 412 Queen Street. Sunday was just all around quiet. Have a good week everyone and stay safe!

Thursday & Friday (Feb 17-18)

Thursday night we had call to the trailer park for juveniles fighting but everyone was gone on our arrival. Everette had a couple of guys jump out of a car on him and run. He was able to identify the driver as Gregory Epps and obtained warrants. Friday Rob picked up a juvenile out at Foxchase that was reported missing from the county. Everette got Mr. Hodson, see previous post. Other than some traffic stops that was about it.

Saturday, February 19, 2011

Cody Hobson

This name is coming up a lot lately. I conducted a traffic stop on Mr. Hobson late Friday night for misc traffic infractions. I had Mr. Hobson exit the car to sign the summon. Long story short, Hobson was concealing a Ruger 9mm loaded with hollow points with one in the pipe and the hammer back. the firearm was located in the back of his pants. 2 other loaded firearms were recovered out of the vehicle (9mm and 12ga) along with lots of cash and pills. I'm planning on speaking with Chief and Mac about the case to get this young man under control before he hurts himself or one of us.

One of the roommates is moving out and she will be back this morning around ten a.m. to pick up the rest of her belongings. February 10, 2011

Rob and Everette had a verbal argument "aka" domestic, at the falls before I came out last not. No crime committed; however, they wanted me to pass on some information concerning the subject they encountered. His name is Cody Hobson and he is out of work and staying with his grandfather at the falls. Apparently he takes some prescription narcotics and he owns a Ruger 9mm. He drives a black 1994 2 door Honda with dead tags and dead inspection (XND7292 Va). For officer safety just be aware of this subject. We made a few traffic stops and I had a call for loud music at Lot C15 King St at 5:00am this morning. That's it for now. Stay safe out there.

Last but not least Sunday was a pretty quiet day. One 911 hang up at 115 Markham Terrace but after the child got a good look at Everette and Rob, well let's just say that's a number she won't call again. Other than that people were on their best behavior. Have a good day and stay safe!

February 5, 2011

Saturday was fairly quiet. Timmy said that the only thing he had was funeral traffic during the day and the only call for service was a 911 hang up that came from the middle of Rt 17, in from of Queen St Texaco. Rob had a DIP out in the trailer park and later an under age possession of alcohol. I had a lady sitting on the bench in front of Tappahannock Pharmacy around 2:30. She was staying at Days Inn with her husband and they had an argument. The rest of the night was just traffic stops. Everette got a young lady for indecent exposure. Well that's it for Saturday. Stay Safe and enjoy the day!

February 4, 2011

Friday night started out with a complainant in Lowes parking lot calling about a male and female subject arguing. When I arrived on scene the female subject had already left and the male subject was leaving as I was pulling in. Soon after we were called to 423 Virginia Street for a fight when we arrived Tara Richards advised us that she had not called and their was no fight at that location. When I was leaving I saw Mr. Newton coming out of the apartments. He advised me that he had called. He said he had been fighting with John Richards and he was at the residence. We went back to the residence and Mr. Richards was arrested for violation of an EPO. Everette and Rob had an accident each. We ran a large crowd from the front of Ferebee's at closing who promptly got in their cars and drove to 7-11. We then found ourselves at 7-11 promptly thereafter running them from there. Rob saw a black male hanging around the tree line in back Heron Point. When he saw Rob he went to one of the end units and went inside. Also to note there was an increase in foot traffic between Days Inn and Rappahannock Apartments. A few traffic stops and that wrapped up the night. Have a great day and stay safe.

February 3, 2011

Dave had someone to shoot BBs at a shed and window on the rear of the shed at a residence on Marsh Street. Anyone with information of possible suspect(s) in that area please drop him a line. I do recall Lt. Johnson talking about some kids over in foxchase getting BB guns for Christmas. I believe he may have received a call there for it.
Rob had a suspicious vehicle call over on Tanyard. A dark colored four door vehicle which was not located. I had a call at Valero this morning of a possible alarm or maybe someones car alarm. I was unable to locate anything; however, the trash truck was behind Foodlion and I could hear the backup alarm. Other than that it was a pretty quiet night. Have a good weekend everyone and stay safe!

February 1, 2011

Everette and Rob started out the night with an ECO on Daniel Stokes. COPE was contacted by dispatch and again by Dr. Daniel from Riverside Tappahannock Hospital. They were told by the on call counselor, Susan Smith, that she would not respond unless Mr. Stokes alcohol level reached a specified BAC. The ECO expired at 11:11 pm without Ms. Smith ever arriving. They also responded to a domestic disturbance at John Richards House which turned out to be only verbal and no other action was taken. We had a 911 hangup from the Days Inn which the manager, Ms. Burrell, stated her daughter dialed accidentally because someone was beating on the door. "?" Made us wonder too. Last but not least was two alarm calls most likely do to the rainy weather. One at Auto Zone in which the key holder responded, the building was checked, and nothing out of the ordinary was found. The second was at lowes. The key holder responded to this one also and water had entered by the rear door near the magnetic strip; which most likely set it off. That was the extent of our night. Have a great Wednesday and be safe! See everyone tomorrow night.

January 31, 2011

We had two calls for service last night. One that Rob answered was a suspicious person at 437 Parker Place. No one was located and the complainant could not give a description of the person other than a young male. We checked the area but did not find anyone. Nothing appeared to be tampered with around the house. Everette and Rob assisted Richmond county with a single vehicle accident on the bridge. The rest of the night was cold, wet, and quiet. Roads in town seem to be in pretty good condition. VDOT sanded them heavy last night. Have a good day and stay safe!

Also activity coming from the last ground floor room on the Raceway side. (124?) Not sure yet who is coming and going from that room.

Blog Information

It was my understanding that the blog was going to be the method of passing along information. I am finding out that you all are involved in a lot of activities that is not being reported. I find out later through overheard conversations, etc. (i.e., activity at Days Inn, etc.)

I think this blog is a great way to pass along information and it certainly puts us ahead of a lot of local agencies but it is only as good as the information we put in.

8 King St

Burldine Brooks is the owner of 8 King St and just recently evicted Cathleen Carey. According to Brooks, after Carey moved out someone entered the house w/out permission. There was no forced entry and nothing was missing. Carey had allegedly only turned in the key to the front door and not the back. The locks will be changed this week. A neighbor had also noticed the lights on recently as well. Brooks' daughter will be living there in the near future.

online training

vcpionline.org is currently offering two courses take can be taken online at your leisure. One course is "new perspectives on community policing" that I consider to be worth taking, given our strategic plan. I have taken two modules and it's good material. If you take and complete it let me know as it will be added to your training records.
Chief

Strategic Plan

The strategic plan was presented to the town council Monday night. It was well received by them with favorable comments. I emphasized the fact that the theme of respect permeates throughout the entire plan.

Now it is up to each of us to carry out the vision and provide quality service to out citizens. We have stated publicly what we are about, now we have to live it.
